...in a sea of history books, loose leaf notes and my sanity.
I hate, hate, hate history.
Midterm today.
Yay.
:*(
Sometimes
I wish God would be like, "Yo, here's what you need to do to get to
where you need to be for my Big Plan for you!" but nothing is ever that
easy.
Ever since retreat, this simple cross strung on a black
cord is the only necklace I've worn. I haven't touched my other
necklaces -- not even my favorite gold one with the angel, heart, dove
and a medallion of a girl. That necklace alone symbolized so much of
me, but it pales in comparison to this cross. I feel like this is all I
need to wear, nothing eccentric, no bling, just this cross.
On a Saturday morning:
N: "So what did you end up doing Friday night?"
Me: "Cry. You know, the usual."
B: "Oh, because it's perfectly normal to cry on a Friday night."
Me: "It is!"
B: "I cry on Friday nights, but it's because I'm married."
Dear you,
Don't be a doormat. You have so much more to offer.
This applies to anybody who knows their worth and value and are being cheated out of it.
Something I've learned about myself -- I should never ever have to sacrifice my own morals just for the sake of keeping someone around for fear of losing them.
I hope others realize that about
themselves, too.
You and I -- we shared an intimate moment. There is something more... there has to be, when you kissed me on your bed.
There has to be.
He stares at me as I squeeze more than two teaspoons of honey into my mug of hot tea. I taste it, and my reaction suggests I'm completely unsatisfied. I squeeze out some more honey and he has this smirk on his face as he bites into his whole-grain pancakes. It's a smile I've grown accustomed to; a sense of reassurance that everything will be alright. I'll always giggle. He'll always smile. I make smart-ass remarks. He makes smart conversation. He is beyond intelligent; extremely book smart. I know everything about pop culture and I'm completely street smart. He's conserved, I'm outgoing and quirky, but we both have incredibly charming personalities.
He's a breath of fresh air.
Thank you, God, for everything.
